Join us for a Special Shabbat Evening
with Singer/Songwriter Julie Silver
Friday, December 1, Service at 7:00pm, Concert to follow
Julie Silver is one of the most celebrated and beloved performers in the world of contemporary Jewish music. She has been engaging audiences with her gorgeous compositions and liturgical settings, her lyrical guitar playing, her dynamic stage presence, and her megawatt smile for over 25 years.
Julie is always focused on writing, playing, traveling, mentoring up-and-coming singer-songwriters, participating in Social Justice projects and making the Jewish experience more meaningful. “I try to enhance the way people experience Judaism by adding my own take on our sacred texts” Silver says. “Our tradition compels us to express ourselves…our joys, our hopes, our faith and our fears. The only path to healing is through sharing our stories with one another. As a songwriter, I write and sing my story and hope it resonates with people.”
We are lucky to have Julie visit TBJ the weekend prior to taking the main stage at the URJ Biennial. She will Join Rabbi Robin and Cantor Shira on the bima for Shabbat evening services. The service will be followed by a concert with Julie. You won’t want to miss this special Shabbat experience.
In 2014, Julie released Anniversary, a retrospective collection celebrating her 25 years of composing, recording and performing throughout the world.
