Shabbat – Shabbat worship services are led by the Rabbi using the the Siddur of the Reform movement, Mishkan T’filah. Shabbat worship services are held Saturday mornings at 9:30 am, and Friday evenings at 7:00 pm. Approximately once a month on Friday night, Rabbi Robin is joined by Cantor Shira in the leading of worship. Also, the T’filah Band Jammers participate in Friday night or holiday services approximately eight times a year. Our youth lead services, too. Grade led services (K/1, 2, 3, 4/5, 6, and 7) happen throughout the year on Friday evenings. On Saturday mornings, once a year, our 6th and 7th grade students lead separate services, and our K/1/2 and our 3/4/5 students participate as a group. Our CONTY Youth group leads one Friday service during the year, as does our Sisterhood. B’nei mitzvah students generally lead the Friday night and Saturday morning services of the Shabbat when they are called to the Torah.
Oneg Shabbat / Kiddush – TBJ congregants enjoy an Oneg Shabbat or Kiddush following Friday evening and Saturday morning services from September through June. The Oneg is kosher style, dairy/parve, usually consisting of fruit, sweet pastries, crackers and cheese. Congregants are encouraged to provide refreshments for the Oneg to celebrate happy occasions, such as a wedding, anniversary or birth. Sometimes the happy occasion is simply being a member of our community.
